OEDGS is a non-profit organization supported by memberships, donations and the sale of publications. Becoming a member will help give OEDGS the opportunity to promote genealogical and historical research in the Old Edgefield District. Members will receive a copy of Quill, our award winning newsletter, published bi-monthly. Quill is the official publication of the Old Edgefield District Genealogical Society, founded in 1985, sharing the history and family heritage of Old Edgefield District.

    Dues and Membership Policy
    Society membership is on a calendar year basis (January 1 through December 31). 

    Members of OEDGS will receive Quill. and a membership card that will provide benefits such as free access to the OEDGS library and a 10% discount on books, research, and OEDGS sponsored events.

    Regardless of the month you become a member of the chapter, dues for the entire year are due. New members, who join prior to October 1st, will receive back issues as well as current issues of Quill for the first year of membership. New Members, who join after October 1st, will not receive any back issues, but will be credited with membership for the upcoming year.

    After the first year of membership, if dues are paid late (i.e. after December 15th), newsletter issues begin at the time of payment/renewal. Back issues may then be purchased at $5.00 each postpaid.
